“ I paint with passion and purpose, infusing my creations with the vibrant energy that emanates from the subjects who inspire me. It is my hope that my art serves as a visual celebration of the icons who have left an indelible mark on our collective consciousness, igniting a sense of joy and warmth in those who encounter my work."

Steven Evans - De Pedra (Of Stone)

Photography
July 14th - July 31st

Steven Evans is a Toronto-based photographer with 40 years of experience developing his craft. Both his fine art photography and his commercial work reveal a passion and deep understanding of the built and natural world, capturing a sense of place with compelling compositions and an ability to express the ephemeral qualities of light.
It is a harsh, desolate place where only the most resolute families eke out a living, practicing time-honoured farming methods that include growing maize and grapes, and raising goats, fowl and free-ranging long-horned cattle.

I entered Art College as an aspiring artist, left after 2 years to work as a graphic designer. I worked for publishing and advertising companies in the United States, and England. Years later I returned to Canada and completed my fine arts degree. After university I focused on my painting and started to work at The Art Gallery of Harbourfront, then The Power Plant Gallery in Toronto. I later became a teacher for the Toronto District School Board so that I could continue to support my painting.
