Andrew Cripps entered Art College as an aspiring artist, left after 2 years to work as a graphic designer. He worked for publishing and advertising companies in the United States, and England. Years later he returned to Canada and went to university to complete his fine arts degree. After university he focused on his painting and started to work at The Art Gallery of Harbourfront, Toronto then The Power Plant Gallery, also in Toronto. He later became a visual arts teacher for the Toronto District School Board and continued to sporadically paint. Having retired from teaching he paints full time.
